This year our Breaking Chains event looked a little different than it has in previous years when we took the event outdoors! This allowed us to expand the number of artists and have additional activities like food trucks, a dunk tank, and an entire kids’ zone.
We had an incredible group of volunteers who began set up around 11am. Most stayed throughout the day to man stations and help with the clean up. We were even able to get a number of youth and Royal Rangers involved!
Throughout the day not only were visitors able to shop for gorgeous pieces of art, but they were also able to connect with other local anti-trafficking groups like Hope Inspire Love, YWCA, and Sparrow Place. Greenlight Operation firmly believes that it takes a network to take down a network. We are so thankful for the opportunity to join forces with such awesome organizations and help continue to spread awareness of human trafficking in our area.
A local doTERRA team heard about our Restoration Home Project and decided to do a mini-drive to collect products for our home. At Breaking Chains, one of their members brought us their collection of nearly $1,400 in products! These products will be used to help support each woman in the home, naturally and in combination with the rest of our healing program. Thank you to the Life By the Drop team for your kindness and passion to help further our Restoration Home vision.
With the generosity of our many artists, everyone who attended, all of our volunteers, and kind donations, we were able to raise over $2,000 towards our Greenlight Operation Restoration Home Project! These funds will help go towards our overall goal of $500,000. This long-term care facility will home 5-8 women for at least 6 to 12 months. During their time we will support them through counseling, therapy, goal setting, education/job training and more. To learn more about our Restoration Project, click HERE.
